Naseeruddin Shah

Naseeruddin shah is one of the most popular Indian actors, honored with the prestigious Padma Bhushan award by government of India. He is known for his immense contribution in Hindi Cinema, appeared in many films like Junoon, Hum Paanch, who Saat Din, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, Chaahat, Mainm Hoo Na, Iqbal and more. Besides, he also worked as a co-producer and produced Raghu Romeo in 2003 and directed the film Yun Hota To Kya Hota, which was released in 2006. Naseeruddin received lots of prestigious awards that include Padma Shri, National Film Award for Best Actor, Filmfare Best Actor Award and The  Volpi Cup for Best Actor.

Early Life:

Naseeruddin shah was born on July 20, 1950 in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh, India. He attended St. Anselm's Ajmer and completed his study. He further completed his schooling from St. Joesph's College, Nainital. Later on , he attended Aligarh Muslim University in 1971 to complete his graduation. Naseeruddin was so much anxious to get into Hindi film as an actor and joined National School of Drama to learn some techniques of acting. He has an elder brother named Zameerud-din Shah, who is an alumni St. Joseph Nainital.

Naseeruddin married the most famous Bollywood actress Ratna Pathak Shah, the couple have two sons named Imaad and Vivaan.

Career

Naseeruddin shah eventually moved to Mumbai to fulfill his dream of becoming an actor in Bollywood, started his career with small budget film Dil Aakhir Dil Hai, co-starred Rakhi and directed by Ismail Shroff. He got another break in the form of Masoom that was shot in St. Joseph's College Nainital and released in 1983.

Finally, he got major break in the form of Hum Paanch, which was released in 1980 and witnessed major success at the box office, also made him popular  overnight in the film industry. The movie opened a door of success for him, his next movie was Karma alongside veteran actor Dilip Kumar. It was also a super a hit film that clearly exhibited the talent. After that he appeared in many movies that include Ijaazat, The Perfect Murder, Tridev and Vishwatma. Naseeruddin played strong negative role in Film Mohra that was released at the box office in 1994 and made a history of success.

Apart from that, he also exhibited his versatile talent as a theater artist with his theater troupe in New Delhi and appeared in many television programs. Besides, he made his directorial debut in Bollywood with film Yun Hota  To Kya Hota in 2006. The movie explored mixed response at the box office.
